Burnley Eye Move For Marseille Winger

Burnley are keen on signing Marseille winger Lucas Ocampos but face competition for his signature, according to reports. The Clarets have tended to stick to the British market when recruiting players since they have been in the Premier League under Sean Dyche.

However, with Marseille’s failure to qualify for the Champions League resulting in their hefty wage bill being slashed, Burnley are understood to have entered the race for the sklilful Argentinian.

Ocampos played 34 times for Marseille last season in Ligue 1, scoring four goals in the process, but looks set to be one of a number of departures under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Reports suggest Burnley are willing to offer £10million to try and sign the 24-year-old, although Marseille are keen to try and hold out for more, with Everton also registering their interest. The Clarets may have their hand forced, though, with Robbie Brady missing much of last season through injury, while the future of star youngster Dwight McNeil is uncertain.
