West Brom have made it clear they have no intention of selling Jay Rodriguez following fresh speculation linking him with Burnley.
The Clarets were understood to be very keen to bring the Burnley native back to the club during the summer but were reluctant to meet Albion’s asking price of around £18million.
Sean Dyche’s men were only willing to offer £16million but that wasn’t enough to tempt the Baggies to the negotiating table. However, Burnley are said to be ready to make a fresh approach for the 29-year-old when the January transfer window opens, the Daily Mail claiming they are prepared to offer £12million.
West Brom, who are currently one point outside the play-off places in the Championship, have no interest in letting one of their top strikers leave, though, and are ready to resist all offers in the hope he can fire them back to the Premier League.
