Toronto Wolfpack forward Jack Bussey will face an RFL investigation after allegedly biting a Toulouse opponent. The Wolfpack narrowly won the Super 8s Qualifier 13-12 but controversy reigned as Bussey appeared to bite the ear of Toulouse’s Bastien Ader in the 13th minute of the match.
Bussey combined with team-mate Bob Beswick to bring down Ader before the forward then proceeded with the alleged bite.
Referee Tom Grant halted the game momentarily to check on Ader’s ear before restarting, with no red card being issued.
He placed it on his report card after the game and incident will be examined by the match review panel on Monday.
Toronto coach Paul Rowley admits Bussey will face the consequences should he be found guilty.
“If anyone’s bit another player, they will face the consequences,” Toronto Rowley said in the post-match press conference. “That’s the way it is.
I couldn’t see from where we were. We did have a monitor but we couldn’t quite see so let the powers-that-be deal with those ones.
“Certainly we don’t condone any of that from our part so, if that’s happened, the appropriate action will be taken, either way.”
