Capoue Happy With Underdog Status

Etienne Capoue says he is happy Watford are not being talked up ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The Hornets go up against Premier League champions City at Wembley for the coveted FA Cup on Saturday and Javi Gracia’s men are seen as big underdogs to lift the trophy for the first time.

Victory for Watford would guarantee their place in the qualifying rounds for next season’s Europa League and Capoue, who was named the club’s player of the year for this campaign, is happy his side are going into the contest under the radar. “Everyone says we have zero chances so we’re going to take it,” he was quoted as saying by the Watford Observer. “It’s good for us.

Nobody expects us to win, so we are working on our side very quietly and we’re going to give 200 per cent because we’ve got a chance. “Everyone says Manchester City’s the top team, everyone thinks Man City are going to win easily so we’re going to try to beat them and to stay focused for 90 minutes. That’s most important for us.”
