According to reports in England, Cardiff are one of three clubs looking to bring Roma’s Edin Dzeko back to the Premier League.
The Bluebirds are desperately trying to sign a striker in January and Dzeko is now top of their wishlist.
Dzeko scored 72 goals during his first spell in England for Manchester City and he has since scored 55 in 94 for Roma.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina international is contemplating one final spell in England and Cardiff have now joined the race alongside Southampton and Crystal Palace.
Earlier this week Dzeko confirmed he would be interested in a return when he told reporters: “It’s probably too late for me to return to the Premier League, but you never know: we’ll see.
“I love English football, I played in the Premier League for four-and-a-half years and enjoyed it a lot, even if I’m happy at Roma right now.”
Cardiff boss Neil Warnock will be doing all he can to snap up Dzeko after missing out on Andre Gray, Danny Ings and Troy Deeney this summer.
