Mick Channon is looking forward to having a look at Chynna’s form over a mile on Saturday. The two-year-old won over five-and-a-half furlongs at York in July but finished strongly at Newbury and then went well in coming home third at Goodwood.
Saturday sees her go over a mile for the first time as she tackles the Group Three Flame Of Tara Irish EBF Stakes at the Curragh.
Channon thinks her Newbury outing holds the key to her best trip and believes he may have cracked where he has been going wrong with the daughter of Gregorian.
“She’s in great form. We’re trying to find out more about her by running her over a mile but she’s a good filly,” he said. “I’ve been running her over the wrong trip. It took me a long time to find out, which was annoying.”
