Cherries Starlet Pens Three-Year Deal

Mihai Dobre is targeting a place in the Bournemouth first team after signing a new three-year contract at the Vitality Stadium.

The 20-year-old Romania Under-21 international forward has been a regular with the Cherries’ youth teams since arriving in summer 2016 while he spent time on loan with League One sides Bury and Rochdale last season.

Dobre has been part of the first-team squad for this season’s Carabao Cup games, but has yet to be handed his debut by boss Eddie Howe.

However, he is clearly seen as a player for the future after being tied down to a new long-term contract and a regular spot in the senior ranks is now his focus.

“I feel very happy,” Dobre told the club’s website. “I’m looking forward to making my first-team debut and doing great things here.

“Since I came to England I’ve gained a lot of experience from the games here, they made me grow up, become more mature and I’ve learned a lot of things from the professional games.

“It was difficult when I first came here because the training here is harder and more intense and the game is faster, I needed to adapt to that and that’s what I’ve done.

“My plans are to get into the first 11, I’m looking forward to getting a chance in the cup games this season and if I can play well then I am looking to get a chance in the Premier League.”
