Chong In Contention For Juve Clash

Tahith Chong has been training with the Manchester United first team after Alexis Sanchez was ruled out of the Juventus clash. Sanchez came on as a late substitute in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday and was expected to figure against Juve in the Champions League tonight.

However, Jose Mourinho has declared he is ‘not fit’ and will play no part.

It means 18-year-old winger Chong, who is considered one of the most exciting prospects at the club, could be handed a place in the squad, after being promoted to first-team training.

Elsewhere, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones and Scott McTominay were all absent from training, but there is a chance Antonio Valencia could play after recovering from a mouth operation.

Mourinho said: “He had a problem – and had very complicated surgery on his mouth. He needed time to recover. It is the reason he was 10 days without training.”
