Manchester City are reported to be lining up a move for Napoli midfielder Allan as a replacement for Fernandinho. Fernandinho has been in fine form for City this season, but at the age of 33, he is approaching the tail end of his career and Pep Guardiola has one eye on his replacement.

It would appear that fellow Brazilian Allan could be an option after catching the eye with his performances for Napoli in a defensive midfield role over the last few seasons.
The 27-year-old has made 148 appearances for the Serie A side and continues to be a key man for new Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti this season and they will be reluctant to sell.
That is unlikely to stop City from making a move at the end of the season, but relations between the two clubs are not thought to be great after Jorginho signed for Chelsea at the last minute.
City thought they had the talented midfielder in the bag in the summer, only for him to join Chelsea, which did not go down well at the Etihad Stadium.
