Burnley Have Fry Bid Rejected

Burnley have reportedly had an £8million bid rejected by Middlesbrough for central defender Dael Fry. The Clarets are believed to be in the market for a new cnetre-back, particularly as speculation continues to surround the future of James Tarkowski, who is one of the names being linked with a move to Leicester to replace the now-departed Harry Maguire.

Burnley are believed to value Tarkowski at around £40million, which would leave them plenty of money to spend in the transfer market if the England international were to depart. However, Sean Dyche does have a tendency to turn to the Championship when signing new players and it appears he has made England under-21 international Fry one of his top priorities.

The 21-year-old was a regular for Boro last season, featuring 34 times in the Championship, while he was also part of the England under-21 squad that won the 2018 Toulon tournament. Boro appear keen to keep hold of their academy product and it remains to be seen whether Burnley will return with an improved bid.
