Coleman Adds To Exiles Influx

Australia lock Adam Coleman is the latest player to sign a deal with Premiership new boys London Irish ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The 27-year-old Tasmania-born forward will move to the Madejski Stadium following the end of his contract with Super Rugby outfit Melbourne Rebels.

However, as Coleman has featured in 29 of his country’s last 31 international matches, he is almost certain to be a part of the World Cup squad.

Therefore, his first appearance for the Exiles might have to wait until November should the Wallabies progress far into the tournament in Japan this autumn.

Nevertheless, director of rugby Declan Kidney is delighted to get a player of Coleman’s calibre on board.

He told the club website: “We have a strong set of forwards, but know we need strength in depth to be competitive.” He added: “Adam is a quality player and we’re delighted he has chosen to come and join London Irish.” Coleman joins his Wallabies team-mate Sekope Kepu, New Zealand winger Waisake Naholo and Perpignan fly-half Paddy Jackson as the fourth new signing confirmed by the Exiles over the past week.
