Hull FC head coach Lee Radford says he is very happy Jake Connor has recovered from a hamstring injury earlier than anticipated. England international Connor suffered a hamstring tear in the defeat to St Helens back in July and he was expected to miss the remainder of the 2018 Super League season.
However, the 23-year-old has been working tirelessly to get back to full fitness and he has been named in the Black and Whites’ squad for Friday’s Super 8’s clash against the Saints after fully recovering.
The centre’s return to the team will be a huge boost and Radford, who has been in charge at the KCOM Stadium since 2014, is looking forward to seeing Connor back in action.
Speaking to hullfc.com, he said: “Jake has worked hard in training and with the medical team and I’m delighted to see he’s back for us. The physios and conditioning staff have done a great job. I wasn’t expecting to have him back this early!
“There is no doubt he brings a lot of quality into the halves this week. He’s going to be partnering a more inexperienced half-back too so that will help us around the field.”
