Conti Issues Milan Future Pledge

Andrea Conti claims he wants to stay at AC Milan “for life” and has no regrets about leaving Atalanta after their successful season.

The 25-year-old right-sided full-back moved to the Rossoneri in summer 2017 but has only 13 appearances for the club having suffered two anterior cruciate knee ligament injuries.

Conti appears to be on the road to rediscovering his top form just as the season is drawing to a close as he bids to help Milan secure a top-four finish at the expense of his former club Atalanta, despite a season that has had its problems. “The mood is positive, as despite a negative spell, we always believed in our chances.

Unfortunately, it no longer just depends on us,” he told Sport Mediaset. “In any case, we are convinced that we can do it and on Saturday will go to Florence looking for three points.” Conti was asked if he regretted his move to Milan given that Atalanta sit three points head of his current club and have a Coppa Italia Final to look forward to this season.

However, he added: “I committed myself to this project and I want to stay here, with or without Champions League qualification.

It makes no difference to me, as I feel at home here, I feel loved and if it was up to me, I’d stay here for life. “I know it’s not just up to me, but I am happy and want to show what I can do. If we don’t make it into the Champions League, we’ll have many regrets, because we know we’ve wasted so many opportunities.”
