Costa Firmly In Juventus Plans

Juventus never had any intention of selling Douglas Costa over the summer, according to the player’s agent Giovanni Branchini. Manchester United were strongly linked with a move for the winger, who looked at one stage like he could follow Massimiliano Allegri out the door in Turin.

However, Branchini claims the former manager or new boss Maurizio Sarri had any intention of cashing in on the 28-year-old Brazilian. “I sincerely say that Allegri and Sarri have never thought of letting him go,” he told Sportsmail.

“The interest of Manchester United was strong, a club that has always been interested in the Brazilian. “It was not the only club but in England it was certainly the most active team on the trail of Douglas Costa.”

Costa has made a positive start to the Serie A campaign, with Juventus joint first in the table alongside a resurgent Inter Milan.

With two assists in two games so far, Costa is once again expected to attract plenty of interest in January, if he can maintain his current form in Serie A and the Champions League.
The Old Lady are next in action after the international break when they make the trip to Florence to face Fiorentina.
