Costa Was Never Going To Depart Juve – Agent

Douglas Costa’s agent insists Juventus never had any intention of selling the winger to Manchester United during the summer. Costa seems to have become a peripheral figure in Turin and struggled to hold down starting berth after making the switch from Bayern Munich in 2017. His initial move was on loan but the Brazil ace then penned a four-year deal with the Old Lady

The South American has scored five goals from 27 starts and 23 substitute outings in Serie A and it seemed as though the Red Devils were keen to take him to Old Trafford during the off-season.
However, he remained at Juve and agent Giovanni Branchini has made it clear the Italian giants were never going to let him go. “The interest of Manchester United was strong, a club that has always been interested in the Brazilian,” he told the Daily Mail.

“It was not the only club but in England it was certainly the most active team on the trail of Douglas Costa. “Douglas has had countless health problems. Last season he was very often injured. He is wanting to recover with great professionalism after standing still.”
The 28-year-od has made a couple of appearances for Juve this term but has yet to find the back of the net and it remains to be seen how patient Maurizio Sarri is with him.

He has never been a prolific goal scorer but Sarri will want a decent contribution with assists, with the Champions League set to begin later this month.
