Crouch Makes Premier League Return

Burnley have confirmed the signing of striker Peter Crouch from Stoke City on a deal until the end of the season. Former England international Crouch, who scored 22 times in 42 international appearances, emerged as a late transfer target for the Clarets and boss Sean Dyche has been able to acquire his services until the end of the campaign.

The 38-year-old’s contract at the bet365 Stadium expires in the summer and he will be hoping to impress at Turf Moor in order to earn a deal for the 2019/20 season.

Crouch’s arrival spells the end of Sam Vokes’ seven-year stint at Burnley, with the Wales international heading in the opposite direction on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Speaking about Crouch’s signing, Dyche said: “Peter is a character who will fit in well here, with the club and the fans. He still has something to offer and has scored goals everywhere. “He’s effective and has done that at every level, domestically and internationally. There’s an all-round package in there.”
