Watford goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg does not expect to be sidelined for too long after sustaining a head injury in training. The Sweden international suffered a nasty gash to his head during a collision in training on Sunday, but he has quickly moved to reassure supporters that the injury should not keep him out of action for too long.
Speaking to Expressen, Dahlberg said: “I got a knee in my forehead in training. But I’m fine. We sewed it yesterday so now it just needs to heal, then I can train again.”
Dahlberg originally joined Watford from Goteborg last January, putting pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year deal before spending the second half of last season back on loan at the Swedish club.
The arrival of Ben Foster at Vicarage Road during the summer has meant Dahlberg has been unable to force his way into the Watford first-team this season, although he did feature on the bench during their Carabao Cup matches against Reading and Tottenham.
