De Bruyne Advised To Seek PSG Move

Kevin De Bruyne’s former coach at Genk, Hein Vanhaezebrouck, believes he should one day play for Paris Saint-Germain.

Vanhaezebrouck knows the Belgium international well from when they were both at Genk. He believes the Manchester City star would be well suited to playing for the French champions alongside Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar.

Vanhaezebrouck knows more than most just how good the 28-year-old is and believes he should eventually compete for the big individual awards like the Ballon d’Or.

He told Het Nieuwsblad: “Kevin has won two league titles and various English cups with Manchester City, and he’s been named player of the season in Germany. But he has never won anything internationally. No Europa League, no Champions League, no World Cup – and these are the things that are always taken into account.

“As soon as he wins one of these prizes, I have no doubt that he will be in the running for the FIFA player of the year award and the Ballon d’Or trophy. I’m not saying that it would be easier for him to win the Champions League with Barcelona or Real Madrid.

“But to my mind it would be if he played for Paris Saint-Germain. Get De Bruyne to feed Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe with his pinpoint passes and you have a team that is virtually impossible to play against.”
De Bruyne has been tentatively linked with a move to PSG in the past but seems happy and settled at City. He continues to play a big role in Pep Guardiola’s side as they chase a third-straight Premier League title.
