Ousmane Dembele has confirmed he will not be moving to the Premier League this summer and is instead sticking with Barcelona.
The France international only joined Barca from Borussia Dortmund last summer for a reported €105million fee, while that figure could still rise considerably due to add-ons.
Despite his hefty price-tag, Dembele struggled for game-time during his first season at the Camp Nou, as injuries and a lack of form limited him to just 12 starts in La Liga.
The Blaugrana brought in Malcom from Bordeaux earlier in the summer, a move that could further restrict Dembele’s first-team chances and the 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Premier League outfit Arsenal over recent days.
However, Dembele has now confirmed he will not be moving to North London and insists he is happy to remain with Barcelona for the long-term.
“Yes, I’m ready to stay and am ready to play in the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla,” Dembele told supporters on video game platform Twitch.
Barca have been linked with a move for Dembele’s France team-mate Paul Pogba over recent days and the forward admits he would like to link-up with the Manchester United midfielder at the Camp Nou.
“I’d love to play with Paul Pogba at Barcelona, like I do with the French team,” Dembele added. “Whilst of the new signings Malcom looks very hot. He was also good at Bordeaux and besides that he speaks French.”
