Gerard Deulofeu has been impressed by Watford’s start to the season even though he has had to watch on from the sidelines.
The Spain international moved to Vicarage Road on a permanent basis from Barcelona during the summer after spending the second half of last season on loan, but a foot injury has meant he is yet to feature for the Hornets this term.
The 24-year-old has resumed first-team training, however, and could make his long-awaited return when Javi Gracia’s side play host to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
Watford have impressed in Deulofeu’s absence, as they currently sit sixth in the top-flight standings and the winger has been quick to praise his team-mates, although he admits he has been frustrated that he has not been able to contribute.
“I am close to being back on the pitch, and I am so happy to train with my teammates because I miss being on the pitch and playing games too much,” Deulofeu told Premier League News.
“It is a little bit frustrating because the team is doing well and I want to be there with my teammates, but we have to keep this way.
“I am feeling good and I want to help the team keep this position and this good start to the season.”
