Former Lyon star Vikash Dhorasoo expects Tanguy Ndombele to join a foreign club if he departs the Groupama Stadium. Ndombele initially joined Lyon on a loan deal from Amiens during the summer of 2017, but that move was quickly made permanent and he has gone from strength to strength over recent months.
The 21-year-old is one of the first names on Bruno Genesio’s team-sheet and he also made his debut for France during last month’s international break.
The midfielder’s form has reportedly attracted the interest of clubs from across Europe, including Premier League duo Manchester City and Tottenham, while reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keen.
Former France international Dhorasoo, who won four major honours during his time with Lyon and went on to represent PSG later in his career, believes Les Gones president Jean-Michel Aulas is unlikely to sell to another French club and he feels, if Ndombele does leave, then it will be a for a foreign side.
“I do not think Aulas will let him go to PSG, he would prefer to strengthen a team abroad rather than Paris Saint-Germain”, Dhorasoo told L’Equipe. “It’s a shame because Tanguy Ndombele is a great player.
“He is too strong for Ligue 1, he is too strong for Lyon and he will have to leave. “I have no doubt about his progression, he will succeed at any club.”
