Juan Martin del Potro believes Novak Djokovic can surpass Roger Federer’s Grand Slam record. Djokovic landed his 14th Grand Slam title on Sunday after beating ‘Delpo’ in straights sets in the US Open final at Flushing Meadows, moving level in the all-time standings with American Pete Sampras.
The Serbian is now just six adrift of Swiss legend Federer and Del Potro, who was playing in his first major final since winning the 2009 US Open, believes the Monte Carlo resident can add more trophies to his cabinet.

Asked if Djokovic can catch Federer, he said: “Of course he can. He has 14 already. He won two Grand Slams in one year. He’s healthy. He has a great team working with him.
“Hopefully him, Rafa, Roger are still fighting for Grand Slams, because it is so nice to watch them fighting for history. We just do what we can against them. But Novak has everything to make records in this sport.”
