Durham Confirm Richardson Exit

Durham have confirmed wicket-keeper Michael Richardson has left the club after a 10-year stay. Richardson turned professional with Durham and was part of the team side that won the County Championship in 2013.

The 32-year-old also helped Durham reach the T20 Blast finals day in 2016 but has now been told to find another club after 103 first-class appearances and six centuries. Durham have decided not to offer him a new deal after he failed to play in any game since May.

Director of cricket Marcus North said: “Following a mid-season review, it was decided that Michael would not be offered an extension to his contract and has since left the club to pursue other opportunities.

“Michael has been a great servant for Durham and we wish to place on record our thanks for his dedication for the past 10 years and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
