Dyche Enjoying Portugal Trip

Burnley manager Sean Dyche admits his players deserve a break in the sun and he is hoping to reap the rewards from their Portugal trip.

The Clarets squad is currently in Portugal for five days of warm-weather training before they play Tottenham a week on Saturday.

Burnley left for the warmer weather on the back of their 3-1 win over Brighton and that result stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches in the Premier League.

The last time they visited Portugal they returned to win five games in six and eventually finished sixth in the Premier League.

Dyche insists the players will get the chance to relax and he is hoping the trip can benefit them once again.

He told the club’s official website: “Once we went out of the FA Cup there was a window available to us to get all the players together. “We did something similar last season and it’s something we believe is important, so we have literally come to Portugal with everyone, including the injured players and staff.

“It is a working break, with a balance of some down time to allow them the odd game of golf, or other recreational activities. But equally they will work hard and we think we’ve found that nice balance.”
