Dyche Thankful For Break

Sean Dyche is hopeful that a break after Saturday’s Brighton game will allow his players to get back to full fitness.

The Clarets face the Seagulls at the Amex Stadium this weekend but will then not return to action until Saturday, February 23 due to their chastening FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester City.

That will allow some of his players who have just returned from injury to improve their fitness while helping those who are close to a return get back in the thick of the action.

It has been tough for Dyche at times this term, with injuries hampering his side’s progress up the table after their poor start, and they sit 17th – just two points above the drop zone.

The break seems to have come at just the right time and the boss feels it is high time he had a bit of luck on the injury front. “If we can get through the Brighton game intact, at least we have that little break which hopefully allows more players to chance to get more training and more strength under their belt,” said Dyche.

“Sometimes, when you come back, you need the strength training and conditioning, but you also need that little bit of luck to stay injury free for a period until your body balances again. “We have had players just get there, then break down and that’s been frustrating, but I think they are on their way back now.”
