On-loan defender Jesus Vallejo’s comments that he chose Wolves over many other clubs proves it is not just the top-six that are a draw in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has been on the books at Real Madrid since 2015 but made just 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.
The former Spain Under-21 ace has spent time on loan at Spanish club Real Zaragoza and Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt where he enjoyed 25 league outings in the 2016-2017 campaign.
It appears as though Los Blancos are not ready to integrate him into their first-team plans as the youngster secured a season-long loan move to Molineux after making just five La Liga appearances last term.
He has had a low-key introduction to English top-flight football, making just one appearance to date when he played the full 90 minutes of a 5-2 home defeat to Chelsea.

There would have been a time when players at clubs of Real’s stature would have not considered the likes of Wolves as a loan destination but such is the status of the club and Premier League that it is now a sought-after route to take.
Vallejo admits that he was not forced to the West Midlands and chose to join Nuno’s ranks above others.
“I am very comfortable with the team, the coach and the way we play. I had many offers on the table,” he told Spanish newspaper AS.
And the Zaragoza-born starlet even admitted that his parent club pushed him towards a move to England. “Real Madrid recommended the Premier League because it is a very competitive league with very good teams,” he added.
“I need to improve my level.”
The debate over which is the best league in the world is unlikely ever to be resolved but there are many world-class players in both England and Spain.
The top six are the obvious draw but up-and-coming clubs such as Leicester City, Bournemouth and Wolves can be an attractive proposition, with competitive squads that challenge the big boys on a regular basis.
The silverware may be reserved for those with the biggest budgets but not many foreign players leave the Premier League unhappy with their experience due to the type of football played and passionate fans packing every ground.
Vallejo has only just dipped his toe in English football and is already loving the experience and may well get his chance to shine as what could be an exciting wolves’ season progresses.
