Emery Gives Pepe Update

Unai Emery has suggested Arsenal have other options on the transfer front and a deal for Nicolas Pepe is far from done. The transfer has been dragging on throughout the week and Gunners fans are still waiting for him to be officially announced, but it would appear Arsenal have options.

Lille president Gerard Lopez believes it will be done in the next 24 hours but speaking after the 3-1 friendly win over Angers on Wednesday night, Emery said it is not done yet. The Gunners have been chasing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who could still be the number one target. “We are speaking about a lot of players, we want to select on players who can really help us, give us big performances and improve our squad,” he said.

“We have different options. This one at the moment is not closed, but he is one we are following. “We are working on the possibilities to sign players. We signed [Dani] Ceballos, and we have a possibility with Pepe. We are looking for the possibility to improve, but only if we can take more steps in the squad. “Our target is to sign another player if he can really, really improve us. Our target is continuing to sign another player if we can.”
