Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere could be back in West Ham United’s first-team fold after the international break. Both players have had a catalogue of injuries over recent years and the English duo, who have 43 international caps between them, are currently on the sidelines with respective ankle problems.

Former Newcastle and Liverpool striker Carroll has not featured at all this season, having last played competitively in May, whilst Wilshere’s most recent appearance came against Wolves on September 1.
However, Manuel Pellegrini looks set to welcome the duo back in the coming weeks and the Chilean has mooted the conclusion of the international break as a potential comeback date. “Andy is close to playing again,” the manager told reporters.
“At the start of last week he started working a little bit with the squad, not 100%, and he will work again this week. On Thursday we will play a friendly game and we’ll see if he can play some minutes. “I think in the second week of the international break Jack Wilshere will also be able to work with the squad.”
The Hammers return to action on November 24 when they welcome defending Premier League champions Manchester City to the London Stadium.
