Eriksen Puts Future Talk On Hold

Christian Eriksen has offered no further updates on his future at Tottenham, with a move to Real Madrid looking increasingly unlikely. Denmark international Eriksen is set to enter the final 12 months of his current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and appeared to suggest last week that he was open to trying ‘something new’ amid reported interest from Los Blancos.

However, rumours are now circulating that Real boss Zinedine Zidane is more interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, which could well leave Eriksen’s future up in the air. There have also been some suggestions that Eriksen could sign a new contract with Spurs, although the 27-year-old has now confirmed there will be no further developments on his future until after he returns from holiday.

He told Ekstra Bladet: “The focus is on vacation, and I’ve said what needed to be said. No more bombs this time around.” Eriksen has spent the last six seasons with Spurs, amassing nearly 300 appearances across all competitions.
