Leicester defender Jonny Evans believes Caglar Soyuncu has all the attributes to become a top player for the Foxes.
The 22-year-old joined Leicester from Freiburg on a five-year deal over the summer but has found his opportunities limited, boss Claude Puel preferring Harry Maguire, Wes Morgan and Evans ahead of him.
Soyuncu, who cost Leicester £19million, made just his second start for the club on Tuesday as the Foxes beat Southampton to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
The Turkey international has taken a while to settle due to the language barrier but his performance against the Saints impressed Evans, leading him to suggest he could develop into a high-quality defender.
Evans said: “As centre-backs, there is a communication there and I’ve been very impressed with him as a player.
“He’s arrived with a big reputation, they’ve spent a lot of money on him. I’d heard about him before, before he was linked to coming to England, as a young lad. “He’s been really impressive. He’s the future of Leicester City without a doubt.”
