Everton 3-2 Wolves

Everton 3-2 Wolves

Richarlison scored twice as Everton bounced back from their recent defeat at Aston Villa to beat Wolves 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at Goodison Park. Three goals were scored in the first 12 frenetic minutes but Richarlison’s second goal of the match with 10 minutes left ensured Marco Silva’s side picked up three welcome points.
After Gylfi Sigurdsson had headed Alex Iwobi’s cross over the bar from eight yards out, Everton moved ahead in the fifth minute when Conor Coady’s poor back-pass played Rui Patricio into trouble.

The Wolves goalkeeper could only kick the ball off Moise Kean and, when it fell to Richarlison, the Brazilian fired his 15-yard shot home.
However, just four minutes later Wolves were level, Adama Traore beating Lucas Digne before crossing for Romain Saiss, who benefited from Seamus Coleman’s mistake to poke home the equaliser.
Incredibly there was a third goal in seven minutes when Everton restored their advantage, Iwobi heading Sigurdsson’s pinpoint cross past Patricio.
There were no more goals in an action-packed first half but there were plenty of chances with Raul Jimenez going close with a header that was blocked before Patrick Cutrone’s goalbound shot was deflected away for a corner.

fter such an exciting first 45 minutes the second period was more mundane although Kean headed a good chance wide for Everton while Andre Gomes did well to snuff out a fine opportunity for the visitors led by Jimenez.
However, Jimenez did make it 2-2 with 15 minutes remaining, heading in at the back post after Willy Boly had flicked on a Ryan Bennett throw-in.
There was still time for Richarlison to head home Digne’s cross while Boly was sent off in stoppage time as Wolves slumped to their first Premier League defeat of the season.
