Everton Defender Linked With West Brom Return

Everton defender Mason Holgate has been linked with a return to Championship side West Brom this summer. The 22-year-old signed for Everton from Barnsley in the summer of 2015 for £2million but has not been able to stake a claim for regular football at Goodison Park.

He has been restricted to 48 appearances across all competitions and spent the second half of last term on loan with West Brom. Holgate quickly established himself as a key figure at the Hawthorns but was unable to help them achieve their goal of promotion.

The defender is currently back with Everton for pre-season training but reports claim he could be heading back to the Baggies for the entire 2019-20 campaign. Slaven Bilic is now at the helm and the report states that he wants to deploy Holgate as a central defender.
