Everton are not confident they will be able to retain the services of loanee Kurt Zouma beyond the end of this season.
Toffees boss Marco Silva has paired Zouma up with Michael Keane since his arrival on a season-long loan from Chelsea, with the Frenchman featuring in nine of Everton’s 12 Premier League games thus far.

This is the second successive season the 24-year-old has spent away from Stamford Bridge having played for Stoke for the 2017-18 campaign. Despite seemingly being down the pecking order in west London, it is understood Chelsea are not prepared to cash in on him and Everton are expecting him to return to his parent club at the end of the season. Zouma’s future departure has lead to the Merseysiders looking at a new centre-half and they are understood to be keen on Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo, who has been told he can leave Old Trafford in January.
