Everton are set to pursue a permanent deal for Andre Gomes in January as the midfielder continues to go from strength to strength. Gomes arrived on loan from Barcelona in the summer and after eventually winning his race for full fitness, has been given a chance to shine in the heart of the Toffees midfield.

Despite some below par performances from Marco Silva’s men, the 25-year-old has stood out, leading to suggestions that a permanent deal will be high on the club’s agenda.
Gomes does not appear to have a future at Barca, but his performances for Everton could alert rivals clubs, and Silva could be keen to wrap up a deal sooner rather than later.
Everton do have plenty of competition for places in the heart of midfield with Tom Davies and Idrissa Gueye also battling for a place but Gomes is starting to show his class.
With the Portuguese only likely to get even better if he stays fit, Everton need to conclude a deal before his transfer valuation also starts to rocket.
