Everton are reported to be lining up a surprise move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi when the January transfer window opens.
Blues boss Marco Silva is in the hunt for at least one more striker in the new year as doubts surround the future of Cenk Tosun, and Origi has emerged as a potential target.
The striker has struggled to make an impact at Anfield and spent last season on loan in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg where he scored six goals in 31 appearances, but the move did not become permanent.
Origi also failed to find another club in the summer and after slipping further down the pecking order with the Reds is keen to finally move on when the window re-opens.
Transfers between the two clubs are few and far between but there would be nothing controversial about this one and such a switch would prove to be beneficial for everyone involved.
The Belgium international has scored 12 goals during his time with Liverpool but will feel he could get more given a run of regular first-team football.
