Fekir Non-Committal On Lyon Future

Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir says he does not know where he’ll play next season, almost a year after a failed transfer to Liverpool. Fekir was in great form for Bruno Genesio’s side last term, scoring 23 goals in 39 games and those figures persuaded Liverpool to make a move for around £53 million.

However, his medical flagged up a potential issue and Jurgen Klopp’s side pulled the plug at the last minute, despite it looking certain he was going to sign. The Frenchman stayed put and has still had a decent campaign this time around, scoring 11 in 27.

However, the 25-year-old is refusing to commit his future to Lyon and, although he says he wants to put the failed Anfield move behind him, is not ruling out switching clubs during the summer. “Liverpool? It’s part of a player’s career, but it makes you stronger and you have to move forward,” he told Telefoot.

“I really don’t know what I will do [in the summer] but as I said I feel good in Lyon, the president trusts me, that’s good. You will see [if I extend my contract].”
