Fenerbahce Plot Eagles Stopper Swoop

Crystal Palace defender Jairo Riedewald is being linked with a summer loan switch to Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Reports in Turkey are claiming that Fenerbahce  the Super Lig outfit’s sporting director Damien Comolli has already started negotiations with the Eagles about the possibility of taking the 22-year-old Dutch stopper ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Riedewald joined Palace from Ajax ahead of the 2016-17 season when he followed his former head coach Frank de Boer from the Amsterdam outfit.

However, when De Boer was sacked after just four games in charge at Selhurst Park, Riedewald slipped down the pecking order when new boss Roy Hodgson arrived.

He made only 12 Premier League appearances last term, while he has made just four outings in domestic cup competitions this season and is yet to feature in the league.

Riedewald’s current deal will expire in 2022, so it is likely that he will get an opportunity to make the move to Turkey if an agreement can be reached, while it could become a permanent switch if he is successful.
