Fifa Confirms Chelsea Transfer Ban

Fifa Confirms Chelsea Transfer Ban

Fifa has announced Premier League outfit Chelsea have been banned from signing new players in the next two transfer windows. The ban comes after breaching rules in relation to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18, according to football’s governing body.

This ban does not prevent the club from selling players but does mean Chelsea will be significantly more reliant on their current squad.
Players like Eden Hazard and Willian have previously been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

The chance of those players being allowed to move on, with Chelsea unable to bring in replacements for the foreseeable future, now looks more unlikely for the playmakers.
Chelsea, who can look to appeal the decision, have been fined 600,000 Swiss francs, while the Football Association has also been issued a 510,000 Swiss francs fine.
