Flores Thinks Watford Are Scared Of City

Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores thinks his side are scared of playing Manchester City after the humiliating loss on Saturday. It has been a tortuous start to the season for the Hornets, who axed Javia Gracia and replaced him with former boss Sanchez Flores earlier this month.

The Hornets sit bottom of the Premier League table with just two draws to their names this season.
Things were bad before the game against the defending champions on Saturday but they were significantly worse after the 90 minutes after they conceded eight goals.

Watford’s record against City is dreadful and the result on Saturday was the third time in two years that Pep Guardiola’s have hit them for six or more, Sanchez Flores says that had a baring on how they played at the weekend. “Against Manchester City, they have very bad memories about every time we are playing against them,” he said.

“Even in press conference two days ago, someone told me our record and remind me how are the scores against City last year. It’s like a prophecy or something. It’s like this. It’s like we’re scared to play against Manchester City. “It’s just one game against Manchester City right now, so we have the second leg so we go to that part and try to forget Manchester City.”

Now the task is to hit back after that loss and the trip to a struggling Wolves side next Saturday is a a big game and that is where their concentration should now lie according to keeper Ben Foster. Foster said: “We’ve got a League Cup match on Tuesday and a big game against Wolves next week as well. “That’s it, you’ve got to let it go and move onto the next one, it’s the only way, there’s no point in dwelling.”
