Ford Calls For Focus Ahead Of European Campaign

Leicester Tigers fly-half George Ford has urged the squad to focus ahead of their Champions League clash with Ulster.

The Tigers put in a resilient performance to see off rivals Northampton at Twickenham on Saturday to club up to fifth in the Gallagher Premiership.

Ford, who kicked three penalties in the 23-15 triumph, admits the squad were delighted to see off Northampton but insists they aren’t getting carried away.

Leicester kick off their Champions Cup campaign on Saturday with a trip to Belfast to face Ulster Ford has stressed the importance of putting in another strong performance.

Ford told LTTV: “We want to keep our feet on the ground … there were some good foundations to our game today, that were solid, but we’ll have to be the same again next week.

“To come here for a derby game, in the wet, and grind it out is pleasing.

“We’ll enjoy it, but not get carried away as we want to look towards next week and get a good result.”
