Ford-Robinson Agrees Gloucester Switch

Gloucester have confirmed prop Jamal Ford-Robinson will join them from Premiership rivals Northampton Saints this summer. The 25-year-old, who can operate on either side of the front row, has spent the last two seasons at Franklin’s Gardens after joining from Bristol in 2017, but injuries have limited him to just two appearances this term.

However, when fully fit Ford-Robinson has a proven pedigree at Premiership level and he also formed part of England’s touring squad for the 2017 series in Argentina, although he did not feature in any of those matches and is yet to make his international debut.

Gloucester remain well placed to secure a play-off place in the Premiership this term and director of rugby David Humphreys feels the addition of Ford-Robinson can only further strengthen the team heading into next season. “His arrival will complement our existing front row forwards,” Humphreys was quoted as saying by the BBC.

“He’s a proven force at Premiership level and has been involved with the England set-up in the past.” “As well as being strong in the set-piece, he’s also mobile and good with ball in hand which will suit the way we like to play the game.” Gloucester have not disclosed any of the details included in Ford-Robinson’s contract at Kingsholm Stadium.
