Foster Hails Hornets’ Quality

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has talked up the quality within the squad and feels they can achieve something special this season. The 35-year-old returned for a third spell at Vicarage Road last summer after suffering relegation from the Premier League with West Brom.

Foster claims he was immediately impressed by the quality on show and felt the squad was capable of achieving something this term. “It didn’t take long from being in training and seeing the quality that we’ve got to realising that we had a chance of doing something this season,” Foster said.

It looks unlikely that they will break into the top six but they remain in the FA Cup and will take on either Portsmouth or QPR for a place in the quarter-finals.

The former Manchester United and Birmingham stopper is certain the club is moving in the right direction although he admits some players aren’t aware of their own talent.

He added: “Some of the players at our club, if they could get it into their heads that they are proper players, real proper players, then this club could really lift off cause we’ve got so much quality.”
