Goalkeeper Ben Foster feels Watford’s strikers are a good combination and sees them continuing to shine this season. Andre Gray and Troy Deeney have led the Hornets line this term, bagging five top-flight goals between them to lift Watford into fourth place in the table.
Gray has three to his name – a total matched by Argentina international Roberto Pereyra – while Deeney has bagged a couple and the duo have caused problems for most opposing defences in the early part of the campaign.
Foster has been impressed and believes the pair dovetail well together at the business end of the pitch.
“Gray and Deeney complement each other really well,” he said. “Troy gets more of the headlines, but both of them work so hard and it’s a pleasure having people like that work for you.”
With so many games during the season, it might be that one or both of the front men suffer a dip in form, but Foster has made it clear it will not be due to their physical conditioning.
“Pre-season was tough and the fitness levels are so high, so don’t worry about those two getting tired,” he added. “They are constantly working, and it’s good for a goalie knowing if you get the ball up there they will keep chasing.”
