Fredericks Reveals Cottagers Hopes

Ryan Fredericks is hoping that Fulham can escape relegation this season but he will be looking to help West Ham defeat them on Friday.

Despite helping the Cottagers earn promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs last season, right-back Fredericks joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer, penning a four-year contract.

The 26-year-old has struggled for first-team opportunities, with just six league appearances to his name this term, but he is enjoying his time at the London Stadium as he looks to displace the veteran Pablo Zabaleta.

Relegation-threatened Fulham make the trip across London on Friday to take on West Ham and Fredericks, who is hopeful Claudio Ranieri’s men can survive this season, is adamant that he will be looking to help his current club pick up the maximum points if he plays.

He told the club’s official website: “Of course, I’d love to start on Friday night as I’ve got a lot of good memories and a lot of good friends from my time at Fulham.

“Obviously, it’s not going too well for them at the moment but I’ve changed teams now and my loyalties are firmly with West Ham. It would be great if they could get out of trouble but I’ve got more important things to worry about for myself than my old club.”
