Fulham could be tracking out-of-favour Serbian centre-back Vukasin Jovanovic after scouting him in action for Bordeaux this week. The 22-year-old has found it hard to break into the Bordeaux side this season and was making only his second senior appearance in Thursday’s 1-1 Europa League draw with Zenit St Petersburg.
Fulham were one of five Premier League clubs to send scouts to the game in France and Jovanovic had a steady game considering his lack of first-team opportunities recently.
Cottagers boss Slavisa Jokanovic needs to beef up his defensive options in January and a move for Jovanovic, who was likened to compatriot Nemanja Vidic a few years ago, could be a shrewd manoeuvre.
Bordeaux paid £2.5million to sign him from Zenit in 2017 after a successful loan spell but he was then loaned to Eibar six months later.
He did not make a first-team appearance during his time in Spain and has struggled to regain the form which persuaded Bordeaux to sign him since his return to France this summer.
