Denis Odoi has admitted the Fulham squad have been left disappointed with their start to the Premier League season. The Cottagers head into Sunday’s game against London rivals Arsenal hovering one place above the relegation zone, having collected five points from their first seven matches.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s men are winless in four games and were well beaten last time out at Everton, with the Merseysiders making Fulham pay for some poor finishing in the first half as they ran out 3-0 winners.
Odoi admits their return to the top flight has not gone as the players had hoped and pinpointed the results against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Everton as being particularly disappointing.
When asked how the squad feel about the start of the season, Odoi told the Fulham website: “A bit disappointed, there were some games where we expected to get a little bit more out of it.
“It has been a big learning curve for us but also disappointing because we could use every point.
“It has been as tough as we expected it to be. It is not the Championship, we need to score the chances that we get because if we don’t in the Premier League other teams only need one chance to score a goal.
“In the Championship last year we could miss one or two chances, knowing that we might get another one to get the win.
“This year, if you don’t score the chances, like the Everton game when we had two huge chances in the first half, didn’t score them and then in the second half they scored three goals.”
