Gatland Reveals Six Nations Hopes

Warren Gatland says Wales have a good chance of winning the Six Nations, but need to start well when they take on France.

Gatland’s 12-year reign as Wales coach will come to an end after this year’s World Cup and he is hoping to go out on a high by guiding his side to more Six Nations success.

Wales, who won the Six Nations in 2013, face a very tough opener against France in Paris on February 1, but Gatland believes he side can go all the way if they kick off proceedings with a win.

“I think we’ve got a great chance of winning the Six Nations if we win that opening game, which is going to be our toughest,” Gatland said.

“We feel in as good a position as anybody to do well. The whole thing about Six Nations is the momentum.

“If you can win your first couple of games, you have a great chance of being in contention on the last weekend.”

Gatland’s Welsh side have won their last nine tests and are currently ranked third in the world.
