Manchester City will have to pay Borussia Dortmund £68million to have any chance of landing Julian Weigl in January, reports claim. City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his midfield options when the transfer window reopens, having missed out on Jorginho during the summer, and is thought to have set his sights on Germany international Weigl.
It has now been claimed the Premier League champions have contacted the Bundesliga outfit regarding the 23-year-old’s availability, and Dortmund have set a £68m asking price.
Weigl, who joined BVB in a 2m euros deal from 1860 Munich three years ago, is under contract until 2021 and as such the German outfit are under no pressure to sell in the winter window.
Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves and Paris Saint-Germain star Adrien Rabiot are also on Guardiola wanted list but he will face strong competition from Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.
