Gildart Targets Further Improvement

Wigan’s Olivier Gildart says he still has plenty of room for improvement as he prepares for his 100th game for the club.

Despite being just 22, the centre has already won a World Club Challenge and two Grand Finals since his try-scoring debut in August 2015.

Saturday’s visit of Castleford will see him reach a century for the Warriors and he will be desperate to inspire a team that has lost eight of their 12 games this season.

England international Gildart remains ambitious though and is keen to prove his class by maximising his potential in the coming years. “I’m nowhere near where I want to be,” he told Wigan Today. “They say you’re probably in your prime at 25 so I’ve got a few years before then. “Don’t get me wrong, if I can be up there as one of the best at my age I’m happy. “But I’m way off where I want to be – physically and mentally.”
