Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has played down reports in the French press linking him with a switch to Ligue 1 side Lyon.
The 32-year-old is due to fall out of contract and is facing an uncertain future in England, with reports claiming a return to his homeland with Lyon could be on the cards.
Giroud says he would be happy to stay at Chelsea but admits he needs to be playing more regular football and may have to consider a move if he does not get it. “The French media have made too much of some comments from me trying to push me into a move to Lyon,” he said.

“I am staying objective, and if I can stay at Chelsea I will be happy – but I need to play more. “For now we have a very big game against Cardiff now at the weekend.
There are only eight matches to go, and going for the Champions League places we will be trying to win all of them.”
